Brooklyn

My dear friends Traci and Steve moved to Brooklyn over a year ago because Traci was starting P.A. school. I FINALLY visited them the first week of August. Traci was my roommate and travel buddy over the past couple of years, and Steve was our unofficial roommate. Steve and I would watch all the good T.V. shows on Discovery Channel while all the rest of our roommates were watching shows like The Bachelor.

Apparently P.A.'s are given quite the busy schedule, trying to plan out play time for Traci and I was rather difficult, but it ended up working beautifully.

They took me out to local joints so I could feel like a real New Yorker. They even had me go in alone to pay so that I could experience the owner yelling at me for standing in the wrong spot. We had take out at Grimaldi's. Why anyone would wait in line for an hour to sit in a stuffy room blows my mind.

They TRIED to teach me how to skim board.

We went on nice walks around Brooklyn so that I could see their hood.

And when Traci had to go to Utah for an emergency, Steve took me on a killer bike ride around Brooklyn and Manhattan. He showed me all the sights that he found interesting; big arches, interesting painting, different parts of town. I really like biking in New York, it kind of felt like mountain biking but I was dodging people, cars, and construction instead of trees and rocks.

The last two days my mom ended up coming out, and Josh and some friends were already in New York as well. I met up with them in Manhattan for Saturday and Sunday. We ate at my favorite New York restaurant Carmines, went and saw West Side Story, and shopped at great places like J Crew.
