Sayan, Bali

Our Balinese honeymoon continued at the Four Seasons Sayan. Instead of being on the beach we were on the river, giving the island a completely different feel. The hotel immediately emerges you into the jungles of Bali.

When you arrive at the hotel you cross a bridge, and you walk out onto what is actually the roof of the hotel, made into a beautiful pond overlooking the rain forest. 

To get to the lobby you walk down a spiral staircase, and continue down the stair case to get to the main hotel rooms.

The hallway to the rooms is one of the most amazing and interesting hallways I have ever seen in a hotel. Continuing on to our villa was just as interesting; the staircase was a labyrinth, which wove around the large cement wall covered in moss.

The entrance to our villa was also on it's roof, and was also covered in a little lily pond. After taking the stair case down into the villa, you arrived at a completely different but equally amazing room as we stayed in at Jimbaran Bay.

 

We had a huge wood patio that overlooked the river and rice fields, and had is own cute little infinity pool and outdoor shower.

 

We again arrived to a bouquet, Balinese scarf, chocolate cake, and bathtub full of flowers. 

The rest of the Four Seasons property was just as amazing to explore. Rice fields were mixed in all over the property.

and the hotel pool is perfectly placed against the river.

The pool bar was again one of our favorite places to eat dinner thanks to the beautiful view, and the intimate setting. Most nights we were the only people there.

The main dining room often had traditional dancing and music to accompany your dinner.

We still chose to eat the delicious food in the privacy of our own villa on a few occasions. 

Just because we could.

We also visited the hotels spa and hot tubs because they had the most beautiful view of the rain forest and rice fields.

 

The hotel also had little temples through out the grounds. This was my favorite one.

The sign asks you to refrain from entering the temple if you are menstruating in order to preserve the sacredness of the temple.

One of our favorite activities was taking the resorts bikes around Bali. You could ride through little towns and rice fields. Some of the biking got a little difficult while navigating the rice fields, which made it that much more fun. 

It was so much fun getting out for a little exercise while experiencing some local culture.

We loved Bali and we loved our honeymoon. If you get a chance to go to Bali make sure to split your time between the beaches, and the rice terraces. Both are beautiful and equally as important to experience. Four Seasons gave us the perfect mix of enjoying both Balinese culture and being able to completely relax on our honeymoon. I really couldn't have had a more perfect honeymoon, or have experienced it with a better person.
