Ushuaia, Argentina

We spent a little time in Ushuaia on the way to Antarctica and on the way back. On the way there we spent most of our time in the city of Ushuaia. We wanted to walk around and get all of our energy out before we got on our boat, the Ortelius.

Ushuaia claims to be the southern most city in the world!

I don't know what the event in Ushuaia was called, but we randomly arrived on the perfect day. The port had an event going on with with all of the old ships sitting at the dock for tourists to view and tour. They had lots of music and a lots of sailors hanging around to add to the fun.

I was so excited when this band came walking by; it added to the ambiance perfectly. Aren't they the coolest?

Most of our day was spent roaming around the city, and trying to keep ourselves warm. The city is full of lots of cute little restaurants and shops for all of the tourists.

I thought all of the boats were so beautiful!

Everyone in Ushuaia was there to see the city and it's surrounding terrain. It was weird being in such a tourist destination as a stopover on our way to our real destination, Antarctica. I'm glad we had the time though, even without Antarctica, Ushuaia has a lot to offer. Plus, you can sometimes find cheap, last minute deals to Antarctica.
