Switzerland

Switzerland is my favorite country in Europe and it's not hard to see why.

This place is magical.

The mountains are huge and endless, everything is super green, and there are waterfalls everywhere!

We always travel on trains in Europe, and I might have over done them this trip. They really are the best way to travel, but that doesn't mean you should spend half the trip on them. I need to make sure to give us a little more time to chill, I just get really excited about seeing everything!

We stopped in Lucerne for the day on our way to Interlaken. It was a very traditional city that feels just the right size. It's not worth going out of your way to get to, but if you are close, it's worth the stop.

The next city we stayed in was Interlaken. Interlaken is located perfectly between lots of mountains, lakes, and valleys; making it a perfect home base. I would love to spend a week or two exploring around Interlaken in more depth. If you are into the outdoors, this is a mecca.

Lauterbrunnen was my favorite city we went to and happens to be a short train ride from Interlaken; it's out of a dream. Seriously! Look at this place! I'm pretty sure that if you look hard enough you'll find unicorns and fairy's in this magical oasis.

You can continue taking trains in a large loop from Interlaken through many more amazing valleys and mountains.

Jungfraujoch was another stop on our loop. It is incredible. It is very high, remote, and beautiful. It is a garden of ice, and one of the only similar places (I can think of) that you can get to without some major mountaineering. You really can't miss it. I love snowy mountains and peaks, so this place is a gem.

Most of the places you view from indoors, but there is this one balcony that lets you out above the clouds. The view is incredible.

It's crazy in the middle of the summer it remains this frozen land.

There is also ice caves you can explore at the top. Be careful though, the altitude can get to you.

Continuing the train ride you come down from the higher peaks into many more beautiful mountainsides and villages.

I always love Europe, but I never have a strong desire to quickly go back. Switzerland is different. It is such an amazing country, with endless places to explore. I need to go back when I can spend a lot of time exploring the mountains.

After our few nights in Interlaken, and exploring it's surrounding mountains, we headed to Zurich. I don't really care for cities, so I usually keep the city stops short. We ended up just spending the day in Zurich, wandering the streets, eating good food, and shopping, before moving on to Austria.
