Little Cottonwood

This last week has been my favorite skiing all year. I was able to go a few times, all of which were amazing. I skied some of the deepest, lightest snow I've skied in a long time. Real great.

This last weekend I got the best of everything. An amazing day at Snowbird with Sean and Clint in the best snow this year. A sunny relaxing day at Snowbird with Stain where the snow was still soft. Then toured with Stain and Malcolm and found even more great untouched snow while getting I getting sun.

Here is my day with Malcolm and Stain.

My friends like using the cheesiest ski terms they hear from other people. Stain informed Malcolm he entered the white room with this turn. That was a new one for both of us.

We also had a lovely view of the canyon.

Malcolm took some real candid shots for me.

We discussed that "checking in" is the cool thing to do. Stain couldn't figure how to check us in, which kind of made it like we were never there. To bad.

Stain went to drop off this little cornice, which turned out to be not so little.

We enjoyed the first run so much we decided to go back up. This time we blazed our own trail which didn't work out well for me, but worked out even worse for Malcolm. We had a few falls where getting back upright in the deep snow was difficult.

But... It allowed us to find this nice little spot.

Malcolm and I took a few tumbles skinning up, then he decided to fall a few more times for good measure once he took them off.

Stains photo turned out more interesting than I thought it would based on the not so good circumstances.

Im always torn between doing my favorite photos in black and white or color.
Such a pressing problem.

Who wouldn't enjoying skiing on a beautiful sunny day like this. If you don't ski, I would really recommend going up, the snow is so nice and the sun is just amazing. You won't regret it. If you do ski, I'd recommend going up in the backcountry. Its just really really pretty and calm.
