Our Lake Powell 7th Anniversary

Usually in Lake Powell I don't take very many pictures. This year everyone loved having their picture taken as well as taking pictures with my camera. We had ultimate picture fest.

So here is the first of a few posts.

This trip was all of our 7th anniversary. Meaning Katie and I met these boys in Lake Powell exactly 7 years before to the day. So it was a very fitting place for us to be that weekend. It's a little more meaningful for Katie since she met Stain in Lake Powell and they've now been married for over five years! Still pretty cool to me to.

If we hadn't met them what would I be doing? I may have married someone lame by now, or had different hobbies. Really most of the cool things I've done in the last 7 years have been with these guys. We've been boating, camping, traveling, skiing, and pretty much doing every outdoor activity together since we met. I wouldn't be able to ski or wake board very well with out them (or maybe at all), and I'd have not as cool of friends. A lot of the people I know I've met through them. Really, I think my life could have taken a really really different turn with out having met them so I'm super super glad that I did.

We met them in Lake Powell. Katie an I were riding my wave runner, some of them were cliff jumping. They gave us a holler. We went over. They said we should come boating. We were scared too, but I wanted to try wake boarding. They jumped and tipped us over. So I climbed on their boat. Then we were forever friends. Who would have thought? Who would have thought Katie would marry one not too long from then? Who would have thought they weren't as creepy as we initially thought?

So thanks guys for hollering at Katie and I from the cliff, and thanks Big Al for getting my digits to call us up after.

They've been my best friends since we met. They are like my brothers, they tell me which boys I should and shouldn't date. They know most everything about me. They tease me a lot. They've given me some really terrible and some really funny nicknames over the years. Sometimes I wonder why I keep coming around, but most of the time I get a lot of attention and we know how much I like attention, so that's probably why. They are also some of the funniest people I know. They are always entertaining. They are usually childish, but can be mature when the situation calls for it. Some of them really stepped up when everything happened with Brynn. Thanks for that.

Seriously, they showed up when I needed someone. They all called, text, and hung out with me immediately after. They let me sit and talk about her. They just sat around with me and did nothing. They were really great through it all. James was great and checked up on me and let me tag along the entire next week while I was hanging in Provo when Mal was at school. Joon, Ryan and Clint also took me around for a day. I feel like in past posts I've talked about my amazing girlfriends, and I really have some great ones. But I also am so thankful for these guys, because they are the best. They are who I spend the most time with, and who know me in lots of different lights, and who've been my consistent best friends forever it seems. I've grown up with these boys. They are my family. Also, thanks to all their girlfriends and wives who are awesome and I've really enjoyed becoming friends with!

Tyler and Holly are cute little newlywed's who have been super great all the time.

In Lake Powell the boy's all did gainers off of a few really large cliffs which was awesome. Usually only a few dare to do it off of the large cliffs and this year they talked everyone into it some how. Real scary to watch. I didn't think a few were going to land real well.

They'll never grow up. Maybe that's why they are my best friends though? Because really I'm childish as well. I just imagine us all going to Lake Powell as we get older and still spending time with each other and just bringing along our spouses. So I better marry someone that fits in! I'm sure we'll still be pushing rocks and dragging as some of our main activities.

We took our usual nice little hike to the cave arch. It's always a good break from the sun.

This was the largest group we've ever had in Lake Powell. I usually prefer small groups, but it was way fun having everyone there for once. It's weird having all the boys have wives and girlfriends, because for so long it's been Katie and I going to Powell with all the boys. It was a really fun trip though, I liked that almost everyone was able to go. Nothing is better than a trip with all your best friends.

They haven't changed at all though. There favorite activity has always been pushing rocks. Most of our trips are spent boulder hunting. I think now they just do it on a larger scale.

Jacki and Andy are just adorable and I love having them in Salt Lake with me. They have been so much fun, and so helpful! They were the best with everything with Brynn and with my house. They'd always call to help, to take me to eat, to paint. Every Friday it was Andy, Jacki, Brynn, Mal and I painting my house. They also called me almost everyday to check up on me to see if I was OK after Brynn and let me talk about whatever I needed to. Seriously, two top notch people. Couldn't be anymore excited for them!

I also love going with the Tucker's and Darais's. Michelle is like my sista and always makes me feel at home. I'm so close to her family and her husbands family, and I've been dragging her along with mine in AZ (and having her keep up on all our family gossip) so it just seems that we are family. My Grandma tells me how great she is and asks about cute Michelle every time I talk to her. We were insta friends when we met in Philippines since I was so close to her brothers, and now I pretty much invite myself along with her anytime.

Nate and Aaron have always been the best to me as well and have been there for me forever! Nate's been entertaining me on trips since our friendship began. I obviously spend lots of time with Kevin and Sean, and them and Cam babysat me in Zion right after everything with Brynn. Kevin was amazing and would ask me a lot about how I was feeling. It was great having someone be extremely open about it all instead of scooting around the subject.

Stain entertained us all with his wake boarding like usual while we were in Lake Powell. It's always so much fun to watch.

Katie and Stain have been my best friends for so long. They both are always there for me. They are some of the first people to ask how things are in my life, and they actually care about my responses. They talk me through all my craziness, they sometimes make me feel more insane, but way better after. They tell me when I'm stupid, and they congratulate me when I do something great. They are great listeners and give great advice. I think their life goal is to see who can embarrass me the most (both are fairly good at it) but I'll let it slide right now because they have been so great to me the last few months. They are the best friends I could ask for. Thanks you two. I'm real excited for you as well! Seriously, you are going to be adorable!

These really are some of my favorite gals. Thanks girls. I'm pretty sure Katie and are will be calling each other when we are 75 to tell each other the crazy things in our lives.

Nate's just trying to be a model here. So am I. Who wins?

These boys are real goofy. Thanks for the laughs over the years.

Really, out of all the places that I go in the world Lake Powell may really be my favorite. It has beautiful scenery, best friends, great food, fun activities, and you are always on your own time schedule. It has all my favorite things. Thanks again Katie and Stain for letting us go all the time. We better keep this up forever.
